Description
The work of Mario Silva expresses movement happening within spaces and objects. A form of dynamism he feels subjected-to when wandering about in his personal mindscapes. The subjects he encounters are taken from his real-life experience and simplified through the deletion of all that appears to be superfluous. Details, for instance, are no longer taken in consideration, due to their insignificance within’ the compositive matter. Removal is key when on the hunt for silence and painterly balance. Abstraction is achieved through the decision to observe the subjects from a bird’s-eye and zenithal view, a solution he found while researching new medias and exploring the world on his iPad, using Google Maps to increase and satisfy his need for novelty. This artwork was exhibited during “Unaline”, solo exhibition of the artist presented in 2024 at the gallery.
